Hospital Intel is a mobile application that utilizes the latest publicly available Medicare data to guide end users to locate hospitals in their general geographical vicinity, based on whether they offer Emergency services or not. It also helps users understand how these hospitals are rated in various performance areas.
The primary goal of the project is to demonstrate that a useful application that utilizes mobile technology features such as location services and navigation can be developed and deployed on the Android platform in a matter of weeks. Our other motivation was to expose valuable information that lies buried in publicly available data sets, in a visually appealing and convenient form.
